Small Outdoor Post Light - When You Need Multiple Lights

Updated on August 18, 2012

Great Lighting, Great Design, Great Price

Outside post lights are extremely important to the look of any home. They can add beauty, but their cost can also add up, particularly if multiple lights are required.

Not all outside lights are bright enough, sturdy enough or afford easy access bulbs. This is important criteria for choosing the proper light fixtures for outside use.

I have the perfect solution for anyone who needs multiple decorative lights for their home. I am absolutely certain the post lights I chose will be a great addition to any outside area requiring this type of fixture and give many years of great lighting.

Craftmade My Choice for the Best Light

Beautiful, Elegant Outside Lighting

My house has a large stone wall in front that surrounds a landscaped area and the sides of my driveway. The wall has room for twelve evenly spaced, small post lamps. These lights are essential considering the neighborhood in which I live does not have street lights.

When the house was built, I did not take into serious consideration what type of lights would work best for this stone wall, instead, I allowed the builder to choose and install the lights based on the amount he had set aside for this purpose.

Big mistake, because the builder chose a plastic material that looked bland, broke easily and made it difficult to change bulbs, especially at night.

Over the years, I had to tape different areas of these wall lights to keep them together. Sometimes I ordered replacement parts that looked new against the worn fixture.

When it was way past the time to change these post lights, I was determined to find something that would would be an attractive addtion to my home, but not cost a great deal of money. The price of twelve post lights can add up quickly. The key was to find reasonably priced lights that would add beauty to the wall on which they are mounted.

I chose the Craftmade single small post light with a black matte finish, beveled glass sides in a traditional design that matched the style of my home. This small, but elegant post light, looks perfect against the stone and wears very well. Not only is this post light inexpensive, it is also easy to change the bulbs, an important criteria in choosing this lamp.

Craftmade Small Outdoor Post Light - Great Versatile Lighting Option

I am recommending the Craftmade outdoor post light because it offers sturdy and durable lighting at a the very reasonable price of $27.00, which is unbeatable for the quality of this fixture. Not only is this outdoor light inexpensive, it is also very attractive and adds a nice decorative touch to the area.

One of the best things about these lights is the two cast aluminum screws with easy grip round tops on each side of the lamp. I can change the bulbs in the dark without any problem, because the screws have enough height to make them easy to find , turn and maneuver. I know I make a big deal about changing these lights in the dark, but I like to make sure the bulb is working, and I cannot do that during the day since my outside lighting system is designed to go on when it is dark..

Since the glass on these post lights is clear, most of them are frosted, more light comes through. This means that a 40w bulb gives off enough light and will be less expensive to use than a 60w bulb.

I have had these post lights for more than six years. They stand up to all kinds of weather without showing signs of wear or discoloration My original lights started wearing almost immediately and kept on doing so, until I was stick of how bad they looked on my nice stone wall..

I do not think there is a better post light for any price, especially for an area where multiple lights are needed.
